Sending and receiving messages

Welcome to the messaging system of Mercato!
This guide will help you understand how to send and receive messages on our platform.

  1. Sign in to send messages: To send messages to other users on our marketplace, you must first sign in to your account. This ensures that our messaging system is safe and secure for all users.
  2. Online marketplace: Our marketplace is completely online, and you can access it through any web browser or device. Additionally, we offer a progressive web app (PWA) that can be installed on your device for easy access.
  3. Push notifications: You have the option to enable push notifications, which will help you stay up to date with new messages from buyers and sellers. Enabling push notifications can increase your engagement with the app and ensure you don't miss out on any important messages.
  4. Sending messages: Once you have signed in, you can start sending messages to other users on our platform. To send a message, simply navigate to the listing you are interested in and click on the "Send message" button. From there, you can compose your message and send it directly to the lister.
  5. Receiving messages: If someone is interested in your listing, they can send you a message through our messaging system. You will receive a notification when you have a new message, and you can access it by clicking on the notification or navigating to your Dashboard.
  6. Respectful communication: We expect all users to be respectful to one another on our platform. Our marketplace is a place where users come to sell, give, get, and interact with others. It is not a place for insults or negative behavior. Any users found to be engaging in disrespectful communication may be subject to disciplinary action.
